"MODERN" FarmingFarmers of the Progressive Farm Era had access to a growing amount of agricultural literature pointing the way to scientific improvements in seeds, soil preparation, soil conservation, selective breeding, improved facilities, disease prevention, etc.
Much of this new information came out of Land Grant Colleges and Agricultural Experiment Stations which issued reports and bulletins that were repeated in U. S. Department of Agriculture yearbooks and other publications.
Other methods of educating oneself in the techniques of modern agriculture ranged from farmers’ institutes to correspondence courses.
